Our Story
The Lowell Labor Day Festival is more than a three-day celebration—it is a year-round labor of love built by the community, for the community. While the festival itself has deep roots in Lowell and has been guided by different organizations over the years, our current volunteer committee began supporting the event in 2016 through 2018 and officially took the reins in 2019. What we inherited was smaller and less structured, but full of potential. With passion, persistence, and an unwavering belief in what this tradition could become, we rebuilt it—forming a nonprofit organization and intentionally growing its impact within our town.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to bring people together. We believe the strongest communities are built through shared experiences—moments of laughter, music, family fun, and connection that turn into memories lasting a lifetime. Although our name reflects the Labor Day Festival, our work extends far beyond one weekend. We host events and fundraisers throughout the year to support and continually improve the festival, ensuring it grows stronger and more meaningful with each passing year.
Behind the scenes, this organization is a year-round effort. Our volunteers balance full-time jobs, families, and personal commitments while dedicating countless hours to planning, organizing, and bringing something special to life for the place they call home. What may appear to be just a three-day event is, in reality, the result of months of preparation and deep community pride.
We are not funded by the Town of Lowell or any local municipality. Every moment created at our events is made possible through the generosity of sponsors, donors, and supporters who believe in preserving this long-standing tradition and strengthening community bonds.
At its heart, the Lowell Labor Day Festival is about togetherness, pride, and celebrating the spirit of our community—year after year.
